Major Arena Soccer League Women tabs 2024-25 First, Second team all stars
TAMPA, Florida – After completion of a successful debut season, Major Arena Soccer League Women is announcing its :First and Second Team All Stars, picked by league officials in close consultation with team representatives, prior to the league's Championship Weekend March 28-30 in Des Moines.
“I can't speak more highly about the caliber of play and the way all these women were so invested in their teams, communities, and success of the new league,” Commissioner Chris Economides said. “They brought skill, passion and most of all professionalism to the game every time out, and every single coach, player and fan should be proud of the league in its first year of play.”
The league's major award winners -- MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year -- will be announced Friday in Des Moines prior to the start of Championship Weekend.
Following are the First and Second Team selections, which includes five field players and one goalkeeper each.
FIRST TEAM ALL STARS
>>SYLVIA ELICERIO, Chihuahua Savage – Elicerio was pretty much a one-woman wrecking crew on a team that totaled 150 goals, 57 more than the second highest scoring team. Her 27 goals and 40 points were tops in each category. She not only was a goal scorer, but a playmaker as well, dishing out 13 assists, tied for second most in the league. She had at least three goals in one game on six different occasions, with her best showing coming February 1 in Austin with five goals and two assists.
>> ISABELLA PUCCINELLI, Wichita Lady Luck – A native of Brazil, outdoors she played with FC Wichita before moving indoors this winter, where she again thrived, scoring 22 goals and adding six assists. Her 28 overall points was second best in MASL W. She was at her best in the biggest games, starting the season with a four-goal performance in Wichita's opener against the ICT Aztecs, and she closed the year with a four-goal effort against the same Aztecs, who won the Heartland Division. She plays her high school soccer at Life Prep in Park City, Kansas. As a junior last season, she appeared in 15 games and scored 89 goals. She was a call up for Brazil's U-17 Youth National Football Team as well.
>> KENNE KESSLER, Dallas RPFC – Kessler has been one of the country's best women's indoor players, having been a member of the 2024 U.S. Minifootball World Cup championship team when she scored seven goals in four games. She was also a member of the 2021 winning World Cup team from the U.S. as well. This season in MASL W, Kessler scored 14 goals and added nine assists – tied for third best in the league – in eight games. She had back-to-back four goal games in January . Out of Hardin Simmons College and a native of Highland Village, Texas, she signed a pro contract in Spain to play with Villarreal FC. In college, she appeared in 89 games, scoring 84 goals and adding 36 assists.
.>> KAYLA ADDISON, Detroit City FC – An alternate on the 2024 U.S. Women's Minifootball World Cup championship team, Addison was second in the league in goals this year with 21. She had a four-goal game in February against Iowa and also scored four times in that same month against Indiana United. Had an amazing career at Grand Valley State where the Southfield, Michigan native had 58 career goals (including 16 game winners) and 142 points.
>> NELY RAMOS, Chihuahua Savage – Was third in the league in overall points with 27, and tied for second in assists with 14. Has played internationally in Brazil, Scotland and Mexico. Best game came January 17 against San Antonio with four goals and three assists, and she also had two hat tricks t his year. Had a season best four assists on January 18, also against San Antonio.
>> GK – GABRIELLE SCHRIVER, Detroit CITY FC – Schriver of the club’s USL-League Two team was voted as the league’s Golden Glove winner for the 2024 season. Schriver is a graduate of both Novi High School and Michigan State University, where she had five shutouts in her 18 games played as a senior. As a sophomore, she was second in the Big 10 in both saves percentage and saves per game average. Detroit tied for fewest goals allowed this year with 24, and Schriver and her team posted a 10-0 shutout on March 1 at home against Iowa. On three different occasions, they gave up just a lone goal.
SECOND TEAM
Macy Reep, Cincinnati Sirens – On a team of talented players, Reep led the way with 15 goals in just seven games for the Sirens, who are seeking their sixth national women's indoor soccer title this year. Had nine goals in two games back-to-back in early March. She played her high school soccer in Fairfield, Ohio (54 goals and 47 assists as a four-year starter), and attended Northern Kentucky University, where she appeared in 67 games, scoring 33 goals and collecting 26 assists in her four seasons there.
Erionelle Cliffton, Omaha Queens – The Queens were one of the many success stories this year, playing their home games in Baxter Arena, a 7,800 seat facility in Omaha. Cliffton She led the 6-3-1 Queens with 14 goals, tied for sixth best in the league in 2024-25. including a four goal performance on Jan. 4 and a hat trick on February 28. She played collegiately for the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and in high school at Bellevue West in Bellevue, Nebraska. She also played in college for two years at Northern Iowa.
Makayla Morgan, ICT Aztecs – Morgan had a monster game when it mattered the most – a showdown with the then first place Wichita Lady Luck on the final weekend of the regular season when ICT put together back-to-back wins to earn the final playoff spot in MASL W this year. She had seven goals and three assists in the win over the Lady Luck, 13-8, which prpelled the Aztecs to the Heartland Division Crown. She finished the year with 16 goals and six assists. Played her high school soccer at Maize HS in Maize, Kansas, and in college at the University of Central Missouri, where she appeared in 74 games, scoring 45 goals and adding 21 assists. She was honored as a United Soccer Coaches All-American Second-Team selection in 2019. She was first-team all state in Kansas for high schoolers in 2016.
Sam Kay, Kalamazoo United – Played for Portage Northern High School before moving on to college soccer at Ferris State. Her 15 goals I n eight games was tied for the team lead in goals with Kat Magruder, but Kay also had five assists. She had three-goal games on three different occasions this winter in games against Indiana United twice and Iowa. She also had a six-point effort, on two goals and four assists, against Indiana as well.
Valarie Macias, Chihuahua Savage – Macias was a key component of the league's most prolific offense, and finished as the league's best playmaker with 14 assists. She also totaled 27 points, the third highest total in the league this season. She was a member of the Savage team in 2023 that won the National Rapid Soccer Championship in Mexico (seven-a-side soccer) which outscored their opponents 43-1. Fellow MASL W honoree Nely Ramos was part of that squad as well.
Courtney Burnette, Dallas RPFC – RPFC plays a low-scoring style, which puts more pressure on Burnette than other goalkeepers in the league. The Dallas based team scored 80 goals overall in the regular season, but allowed just 24, tied for fiewest in MASL W in 2024-25. Her most impressive win came at home against Chihuahua, as the Dallas defnese and Burnette held the high flying Savage offense to just one goal in a key 2-1 win on February 16. She also had a shutout on March 8 in a 13-0 win over the Houston Indoor Club. She also gave up just one goal once, and two goals twice, in other action this season.
